Gold thimble with natural torquoise

Gold thimble, probably 15ct, English c.1870. with a border of natural torquoise set in raised 'Roman' style. As torquoise can discolour over use and time, drops of torquoise porcelain were often used in the 19th century because they did not discolour. However, when the stones are real ones they will be naturally uneven as are some of these.
